Invoicing tips for contractors
- Bill labor and materials on separate lines so the client sees where money goes.
- For larger jobs, invoice by milestone (progress billing) rather than at the end.
- Include your license number and the job site address.
What every construction invoice should include
Your business details, the client's details, a unique invoice number, the invoice and due dates, an itemized list of work with prices, any tax, the total due, and clear payment instructions. The template above already has a spot for each.
