How Etsy fees add up
A typical Etsy sale has three fees: the $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price and shipping, and payment processing of 3% + $0.25 on the full order including tax. Together that's usually around 10–11% of what the buyer pays.
Offsite Ads are the big variable. If a sale comes from an Etsy ad on Google, social media or other sites, Etsy takes another 15% (or 12% once your shop passes $10,000 in yearly sales), capped at $100 per order. Shops under $10k can opt out.
Pricing tips
- Build fees into your price: a quick rule is to assume ~11% on normal sales and ~26% on Offsite Ads sales.
- Remember the fee on shipping when you set shipping prices.
- Check the break-even price below the results before you list.
